Move, Sweat, Reflect: Flow with Julie (Summer 2017)

In each of these weekly classes, we will take on a theme or idea, often from yoga philosophy or mythology, for contemplation and then move it through our bodies and with our breath. In this session, we will work with the Tantric Ten Great Wisdom goddesses, exploring their lessons, ideas, and mythology each week. Release stress, breathe deeply, build strength and flexibility, and learn how to approach postures like standing, balancing, backbends, core work, and inversions (no pressure!). We will move dynamically (but intentionally) with our breath, showing up to how we feel and letting go of what we don't need. This class involves some physical challenge, but there are always options to modify depending on what you need that day. Each class ends with a deep stretch and a satisfying rest.

All levels are welcome. Modifications will always be offered for injuries or limitations. Pregnant students comfortable in a yoga practice are welcome.


Tuesdays, 6:00pm-7:15pm

9 classes, July 4th-Sept 5th. No class August 22nd.

$153+tax before June 26th.

*Registration for the full class comes with two Bonus Classes that may be used before the end of the Summer session for any other class on the schedule that allows drop-ins (space permitting; please enroll online before class).

Julie Peters, MA, E-RYT 500, has been practising yoga for over 20 years. While it's certainly physically helpful, she has found its true secrets are in the tools it provides to help us live better lives. Julie, who is also a writer with an MA in English Literature, runs Ocean and Crow Yoga with her mom, Jane. She is the author of Secrets of the Eternal Moon Phase Goddesses: Meditations on Desire, Relationships, and the Art of Being Broken (Skylight Paths/Turner Publishing).
